Thai Massage with Oil:

In the last few decades, there has been a surge in acknowledgment of the benefits of Thai Massage, leading to the opening of more massage shops outside of Thailand. Countries like Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, New Zealand, and many more have witnessed an increase in the number of Thai Massage shops. Feeling tired? Stressed? Have a sore body? Then you may need a Thai Massage, but what are the benefits of a Thai Massage with oil?

Unlike Traditional Thai Massage, where the receiver of the massage remains fully clothed and is eased into certain yoga-like positions under the guidance and expertise of the practitioner, some people may find an oil massage more relaxing. The heat of the oil releases tension in the body and may allow the practitioner to work on specific sore areas with less friction. Patients with sore backs, necks, and shoulders may find Thai Massage with oil a relaxing experience, as they can spend time face down on a massage bed and allow the oil and the practitioner to work their magic. Personally, I have found oil massage great for relieving knots of tension in my back and shoulders. The heat of the oil alleviates discomfort from the knot, and the practitioner’s hands and elbows can dig deeper into the specific area. The wonderful aroma from the oils also contributes to a deeper state of relaxation, which is much needed for tense bodies.

In my personal experience of previously seeking treatment from a physiotherapist and chiropractor for back and shoulder issues, I struggled to relax, inadvertently making the job of the physiotherapist and chiropractor much more difficult. Reflecting on these past consultations, I realized that my body was very tense, with nothing to alleviate the cause. This is where oil can be of great benefit, both for the practitioner and the patient. It takes away the friction, loosens up joints and muscles, and allows for contortion of the Sen lines. Sen lines are our body’s energy lines. When we experience knots in our bodies, our energy lines are blocked and need to be unblocked through Thai Massage. This allows for better blood flow throughout the body and overall improves our health with better circulation within our body.

Breath awareness, through constant slow breathing inwards and outwards, also helps our bodies relax and assists in our body being manipulated through the expertise of the practitioner. This inadvertently brings mindfulness into action, as our mind interconnects with our physical body into a deeper relaxation. Many of us work long hours and lead busy lifestyles, often neglecting our physical and mental well-being. The beauty of a Thai Massage with oil is that patients can experience a deeper state of relaxation, leading to simultaneous destressing of the mind and body. It is worth noting that numerous recent studies have shown that many diseases and body pains stem from an ongoing state of stress. Therefore, the interconnected benefits of Thai Massage with oil on our physical and mental well-being should not be understated.

Another positive aspect of certain Thai Massage oils is that our skin is nourished and revitalized. Carrier oils can rehydrate dry and hard skin, often leaving the skin feeling much softer and rejuvenated after a massage with oil. Some oils used for Thai Massage can also stimulate improved blood circulation, enhancing oxygen and nutrient delivery to tissues within our bodies. The heating and cooling sensation that occurs with the use of oils can be especially beneficial to those who experience extreme muscle tightness, spasms, and body cramps.

If you’re the type of person who is shy about the exposure of your body for the use of oils for massage, you need not worry because towels and blankets are used to cover body parts. Our professional and experienced practitioners will make sure you feel comfortable, but please remember to notify staff prior to an appointment about any pre-existing health issues and any past surgeries that you have undergone.
